About Arno Breker's Recent Graphic
Work
Recent graphic work includes illustrative prints with
Greek and Roman motifs. Breker's linear style follows the example
of ancient art. The enthusiast of Greek history and the Ancient World will enjoy his art. Ancient
Rome is also
represented in his works. As a recipient of the renowned Villa Romana award, Arno Breker
spent a year in Rome.
After the war, Breker took up a new direction. In
addition to his drawings, he also created, in his later period, busts of
famous people, politicians, business people and scientists, as well as artists and writers such as
Cocteau, Pagnol,
Hauptmann, Vlaminck, Marais and Pound. Breker remained true to Veristic representation.
